Nokia 9 PureView has a screen of 5.99 inches with QHD+ resolution. Having a thickness of 8mm the phone weighs just 172gm. It feels quite heavy and thick in the hand but the slippery back of the phone feels like you’re holding something substantial. This phone is dust/water resistant with a rating of IP67. With shiny metal sides and curved glass back, this phone will look amazing in anyone’s hands. Despite having trypophobic properties, Nokia 9 PureView has maintained its symmetry all the way through. The screen is protected by Corning gorilla glass 5. The phone has a P-OLED capacitive touchscreen with a pixel density (PPI) of 538. This phone has a hybrid dual sim slot. The phone is powered by Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset along with 6GB of RAM which gives users a smooth experience while multitasking. Also, to provide smooth experience while playing high-end games, this phone is packed with Adreno 630 GPU. The phone is available in only one color i.e. Blue. It features five cameras of the same focal length and one ToF camera. Nokia 9 PureView runs on the latest version of Android i.e. Android v9.0 (pie). It is cheaper than other latest flagship phones. The 6GB/128GB version of the phone is priced at HK$5299. Let us get a detailed review of Nokia 9 PureView here in this article to harness your buying skills.

Design and Display: The front and back glass along with shiny metal sides make this phone look very beautiful. It features a P-OLED panel with QHD+ resolution (1440 x 2880 pixels). It has a PPI (pixels per inch) density of 538. As mentioned above, the phone has a big screen of 5.99 inches. In terms of display, it is one of the best smartphones in the market. The lenses of the rear camera are tucked underneath the full rear cover. You can find volume and lock button at the top of the right-hand side. A Type-C USB port at the bottom and sim card slot on the top of the phone. As this phone is a limited edition, Nokia has released only one color i.e. midnight blue. The front and back of the phone is glass and hence it is little hard to grip on. The phone has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance which means the phone is safe for 30 mins underwater in a depth of 1m.

Software and Hardware Feature: The phone runs stock Android v9.0 (pie). This is why you won’t find any unwanted bloatware apps or skins to slow down the phone even after prolonged use. The only bad thing about this phone is its under display fingerprint sensor. The 6GB of RAM along with Adreno 630 GPU and Snapdragon 645 allows users to play high-end games smoothly without any heating issues. Though the phone has a hybrid slot, 128GB of storage is enough to store a lot of movies as well as applications. HMD has even added face recognition in its latest update. The phone comes with Bluetooth v5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, and 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. You can also find Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi hotspot. The phone is packed with fingerprint (under display), accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass, barometer, and ANT+.

Performance: Snapdragon 845 is very powerful. It allows playing high-end games for a prolonged period of time without lagging. Also, the interface is free of unwanted bloatware which gives users a better experience. The octa-core CPU of the phone consists of two quad-core processors. One 2.8 GHz Kyro 385 Gold and another 1.7 GHz Kyro 385 silver. It also allows fast app loading but can slow down while swapping around photo modes.

Battery: The latest Nokia 9 PureView comes with a non-removable Li-Polymer 3320 mAh battery. This phone has a type-C charging port and it also features fast battery charging (18W, Quick Charge 3.0). Once fully charged, this phone can give approximately 25 hours of 3G talk time or 9.5 hours of web browsing or 13 hours of video playback. The other attractive feature of this phone is fast wireless charging 10W (Qi), 5W (PMA), and USB power delivery.

Cameras: The most important part of the phone is its camera. Nokia 9 PureView features 5 12 MP f/1.8 cameras with the same fixed focal length of 28mm (wide). It captures images with great detail and can collect up to 10 times more light than any other smartphone. The main focus of Nokia was not on normal people but on photography enthusiasts. It allows users to click raw photos and gives the experience of the digital camera in a mobile phone. In order to combine photos taken simultaneously with every lens, two of the cameras are placed on the top while the other three are placed in the top. The center cameras are in color while the other cameras are in monochrome. The photos taken by Nokia 9 PureView looks darker and less vibrant when compared to pictures taken in other smartphones. The 20 MP selfie camera is capable of clicking amazing pictures even in low-light. Compared to the outside, this phone clicks better pictures in the interstitial areas. Daytime shots have less vivid pictures and the lighting vary from shot to shot. So, clicking more photos is the best idea.

Conclusion The peculiar looking phone does well with performance and camera. The fingerprint sensor is not good, but if you are a photography enthusiast, this phone might be a good choice for you. Being based on basic android, you will notice more updates than any other smartphone.

• Amazing Display
• Magnificent Cameras
• Ample Storage
• Wireless Charging

• Hybrid Slot
• Poor Fingerprint Sensor
